1. Artist Profile
Ayumi Hamasaki, was born in Fukuoka, Japan, on October 2, 1978 (Age  32 years old), also known as "Ayu" by the fans, is the most famous female singer in Japan. Ayu has been dubbed as "Empress of Pop" because her success in Japan.

Since her debut in 1998 by her first single "poker face", till now she has sold over than 50 Million copies albums and singles, only in Japan. Not counted yet in many other countries. She has released 10 studio albums, 47 singles, and 1 mini album, 5 compilation albums, under Avex Trax music label, which has generated many hits also peaked the top of Oricon  in Japan. She is the most successful soloist and female artist, at once the most successful 2nd artist in the history of Japanese music industry till now. By her 40th single, "Blue Bird", she has made a record beyond the single sales figures that reach 20 million copies.

By the 39th single release, "Startin/Born To Be..." in 2006, Ayumi has become the first female artist who has 32 singles that peak at #1 on the most famoust Charts in Japan, called Oricon.

Ayumi has also gained an appreciation Grand Prix Japan Record Taishou, a kind of Japanese Grammy Award 3 times respectively. But in 2004 she rejected an appreciation for her single "INSPIRE", due to the conflict of Avex between Max Matsuura and Tatsumi Yoda. After that, Ayu also often rejected an appreciation which intended to herself due to Ayu wanted to give a chance for other young singers.

On February 28, 2007, Ayumi released A Best 2, a pair of compilation albums that consisted of the songs from album titled I am... till (Miss) understood. Both of version, White and Black, appeared on the 1st and 2nd place of Oricon Chart weekly, made Ayumi the first female artist within 30 years who reach 2 top positions on the Oricon Chart album.

On July 14, 2010, Hamasaki released her forty-eighth single, "Moon/Blossom". The single was released as the first of a three-part project to celebrate her yet-unreleased fiftieth single. The two other singles in the project (her forty-ninth and fiftieth singles respectively), "Crossroad" and "L", were released within a week of each other, "Crossroad" on September 22 and "L" on September 29. "Crossroad" was composed by Tetsuya Komuro and its coupling was her cover version of Komuro's band TM Network's 1988 song "Seven Days War", which was her first cover of a male song.

Ayumi who also known as the most famous female singer in Japan, has released 12 albums, 2 EPs, 5 compilation albums, and 51 single

Her latest album is Rock 'n' Roll Circus, was released on April 14, 2010. Peaked at #1 on the Oricon weekly. Sold out around 318,000. But, she will release her next album, titled Love Song, which will be released on December 22, 2010.

Also followed by her 2010 single "Moon/Blossom", "Crossroad", and "L". All of them peaked at #1 on the Oricon Chart Single and will be included into Love Songs album.
