J-Rocks

Hello friends, now the special 5 is about the four member band origin from my beloved country, Indonesia. I put the label on the special, not on the artist because it's not a Japanese Band. But the reason why I post profile of this band because they are one of the Indonesian bands that brings a Japanese music genre in its country. For the first they are influenced by most famoust Japanese band, L'Arc~en~Ciel. So, let's start to enjoy my review.

1. Band Profiles

J-Rocks is a band comes from Jakarta that formed on November9, 2003. This band consists of four member, they are Iman (vocals, guitar), Sony (guitar), Wima (bass), and Anton (drum). The genre of this band is a Japanese Pop/Rock, fixed on the band's own name. The name of J-Rocks had become hot news among Japanese music lovers in Indonesia because this name seemed to represent the genre of Japanese Rock. In early the band was named as J-Rockstar, is the idea of a sticker written "Rockstar", in the hope that one day will be a Rockstar (rock star). Additional letter of "J" in its front to represent the band itself with reasons J may mean Japanese because they generally play J-Music, Jakarta because they come from Jakarta, honest with music in terms of playing what they really like and want to play music that has a soul. Name of J-Rockstar eventually shortened to J-rocks because the problem mention by calling its name, while the name of J-Rockstars eventually became the term for the fans / fans of J-Rocks and commonly abbreviated as JRS. Since 2008 J-Rocks started wearing batik costumes by modern design, however the remains with harajuku-style makeup, and promote batik to young people.

Beginning 2004, J-rocks won the Nescafe Get Started music festival 2004, which was sponsored by Nescafe, Trans TV, and Aquarius Musikindo. Each personnel won best vocalist, best guitarist, best bassist and best drummer. J-rocks successful to win the festival and the opportunity to make a compilation album Nescafe Get Started which is the beginning of their cooperation with Aquarius Musikindo.

J-Rocks made history as the first Indonesian band recording at the legendary Abbey Road studios, in the United Kingdom. The process of recording and mixing new songs they performed for five days from 12 to 16 Oct 2008. At Abbey Road studios they were handled by Chris Butler, a renowned sound engineer.

Abbey Road Studios was founded in November 1931 by EMI in "London". A number of famous musicians have recorded their songs in this studio, like The Beatles, Green Day, Muse, Oasis, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2 and even Michael Jackson.

But in early of 2010, Jrocks released a song titled "Madu dan Racun" which inserted in the compilation album titled "40TH Anniversary Aquarius". This song was first sung by Arie Wibowo from Bill & Brod group.
