1. Artist profile
V6 is a Japanese male singer idol group formed by Johny & Associates. This group consisting of 6 members with a first single CD entitled, Music for the People which was released on November 11, 1995. They are Masayuki Sakamoto, Hiroshi Nagano, Yoshihiko Inohara, Go Morita, Ken Miyake, Junichi Okada. And all of them are vocalist. V6 signed up with Avex Trax record company.

V6 members have a regular television program, entitled Gakkou e ikou (学校へ行こう, Let's go to school). This program tried to dig up the student's hidden talent by targeting the audience of Junior and Senior High School.

Age of the oldest and the youngest members which different of nine years makes V6's reason splits into two units : 20th Century (abbreviated Tonisen) dan Coming Century (abbreviated Kamisen).

Besides as a singer, V6 members usually appear in the variety intertainment like to be a film star in the television drama, variety event, and as the guest star of the radio program. 20th Century unit often appears on the musical stage and drama, while the Coming Century Unit more often starring the television drama. The leader of this group, Sakamoto Masayuki, roles in many musicals, such as Footloose, Blood Brothers, and the Boy from Oz.

V6 gave their song to Ultraman Tiga tokusatsu series in 1996, entitled Take me Higher. Where Hiroshi Nagano as Daigo Madoka/Ultraman Tiga was the main protagonist and the title character for this tokusatsu superhero series. And also their 17th single, Change the World, was used as the first opening theme and Chain the Power as the insert song for Inuyasha anime series.

In 2005, Coming Century performed the song entitled Breakthrough, which was used as the first opening theme for Eyeshield 21 anime series. While followed by second opening by 20th Century entitled Innocence. The two separate bands has performed their song for anime.

V6 celebrated their 10th year anniversary in 2005. They commemorated the event by holding about 30 concerts in sold-out arenas all over Japan, holding 3 major Thank You Events, releasing a hit movie Hold Up Down and releasing a new album Musicmind. They also had a rare Handshake Session with hundreds of thousands of fans in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.

While their latest album entitled Ready? contains 13 tracks and released on March 31, 2010. The album is certified Gold for shipment of 100,000 copies.
