ZONE is an all-female Japanese music group. This group consisting of four women. At first they are Takayo Ookashi (vocals and guitar), Maiko Sakae (vocals and bass guitar), Mizuho Saito (vocals and drum) and Miyu Nagase (vocals and guitar). But in late 2003, Takayo Ookashi resigned from Zone to continue her study and has been replaced by Tomoka Nishimura (vocals & guitar). At first they were under Studio RunTime music label. But on February 7, 2001 they released their first single entitled Good Day, and was under Sony Music Records. This music group was formed on February 7, 2001 but then they were disbanded after their last appearance on April 1, 2005. Shortly after Zone was disbanded, then Maiko founded a new group named MARIA.
Their songs have been used as theme song for anime and film in Japan. Such as True Blue was used as first opening theme for 2003 Astro Boy anime series and so did Tetsuwan Atomu ~ballad version~ was used as 2nd ending theme. And the Japanese release of Ice Age, the theme song is Hitoshizuku.
Their most famous song is Secret Base (Kimi ga Kureta Mono) released on August 8, 2001. The single sold about 744,000 copies on Japanese Oricon charts.

ZONE officially disbanded on April 1, 2005, after playing their final concert at Nippon Budokan. They left their last single entitled Egao Biyori which was released on March 9, 2005. And their last album was ura E~Complete B side Melodies~ which was released on April 19, 2006.
