Asian Kung-Fu Generation is a Japanese Rock band consisting of four member that formed in 1996. Their fans usually use name abbreviations of this band, you can call it Ajikan. At first, Ajikan was under the label of Under Flower Records. It had been running about two years before they were under Japan international records, it is Ki/oon Records. And their genre are Shimokita Kei Rock, because they first play at Shimokitazawa region, in Tokyo. This group is popular outside of Japan, due to the song was used for theme song of Naruto and Bleach Anime Series. The song, Haruka Kanata is their most well known song which was used for 2nd opening theme of Naruto and then followed by After Dark, the 7th opening of Bleach After Dark is different from Haruka Kanata, because After Dark's Status is as a single. Their album also had been released in Taiwan and United State.

Recently, this group has been releasing 3 singles in this year and last year. Last year they had released the song called "Shinseiki no Love Song". This song had peaked 4# position on the oricon charts. And for this year, they have released song called "Solanin". This song is for theme song of same name film. And the B-Side of this single is used for ending theme, called "Mustang (Mix for Meiko)". It was taken from one song of Mini Album, "Mada Minu Ashita ni". It has peaked #2 position on the oricon charts.
Then, their 15th or latest single is "Maigoinu to Ame no Beat", which will be released on next May 26, 2010.

Ajikan is coming back with their 6th studio album, titled "Magic Disk" which was released on June 23, 2010, also containing of 13 tracks and featured 3 of their last singles. It was announced in April 2010 after Gotoh posted an entry into his diary stating the title.
Some songs of the album also featured by brass, strings, percussion. Limited Edition DVD only stick to the NY recorded 60-minute documentary followed the pattern of recording close of the season.
Maigoinu to Ame no Beat is their first single which was featured with brass instrument.
