1. Band Profile


B'z (ビーズ, Bizu) is a Japanese hard rock duo consisting of Tak Matsumoto (松本 孝弘, Takahiro Matsumotoand) as a producer, composer, and guitarist. Koshi Inaba(稲葉 浩志 Inaba Kōshi) as a lyricist and vocalist. The duo was signed by record company called Vermillion Records.

One of their song was used as the first ending theme of Hell Teacher Nube anime series, entitled Mienai Chikara ~Invisible One~. It sold over 1,236,000 copies according to Oricon.

B'z was formed in 1987, when the guitarist Tak Matsumoto who working as a record producer Being wanted to found an own band. As the musician of studio, Matsumoto has an experience as the support musician in the concert of TM Network and Mari Hamada. In the music magazine, Matsumoto announced that he will found a band together with a vocalist, but finally the planning was failed.

Record producer and at once as the main director of Being, Hiroyuki Nagato knew that Matsumoto was lookng for a vocalist. And on May 1988, Matsumoto got a demotape from Nagato, that contains Koshi Inaba's voice. At that time, Inaba who was still in high school, singing the song T-Born Suffle by T-Bone Walker, You Shook Me by Led Zeppelin, and Honesty by Billy Joel. Two or three years before B'z was founded, Nagato has just interested with Inaba.

After met by Nagato, Inaba and Matsumoto promised for a meeting. In the days later, Matsumoto said, "I have listened her Demotape, looked her photo, and I have been steady to choose him". In the little studio, named Sound Joaker, both of them met at the first. They just played 2 songs, Let it Be and Oh! Darling by the Beatles. At that time, the studio tools was broken. And a few days later, they met again, and agreed to make a carrier together. After that, they formed B'z, and released their debut single entitled Dakara Sono Te o Hanashite, at once as the debut album by B'z on September 21, 1988.

When still early, B'z was joined in TM Network's around tour. In order to their promotion, Matsumoto held an guitar seminar to attract their fans. Seminar was running in half time, when must be cut by promotion concert by B'z.

Till now, B'z has released 41 Singles and 23 Albums which all are respectively peaked at #1 position, and their record have sold more than 78 million copies in Japan. Their latest album entitled Magic contains 13 tracks was released on November 18, 2009 and sold more than 480,000. It has peaked #1 position at Oricon Daily Album Chart, Oricon Weekly Album Chart, Oricon Montly Album Chart and peaked #13 at Oricon Yearly Album Chart.
Also followed by their latest single that was released on October 14, 2009 entitled My Lonely Town contains 3 tracks. It has peaked #1 position at Oricon Singles Chart and sold more than 230,000.
